Definitely not the right time to blog

It seems Sarah and I are having a competition to see who can go the longest without blogging. Well, for once, I lose.

My life is still hectic. I'm in a good place as far as relationships go, but other than that, everything feels pretty tumultuous. I'm getting by on a day to day basis with respect to too many things, and it's catching up to me. That being said, I felt like writing a bit, just to get my fingers moving before cranking out yet another writing assignment.

Classes:
They are okay for now. In the next month and a half, though, I am responsible for writing five papers and taking two finals, so that's a bit stressful. I am treading water with regards to the daily assignments, but the stuff we do in class has nothing to do with the papers I'm writing. And the papers are our only real grade, so it's quite difficult to stay motivated for class. But if I don't stay motivated for class, I sound like an idiot if I have to talk in class. So I read and prepare for class during the hour before class, and the treading-water cycle continues. I could potentially catch up on my days off but...

Handball
Is going pretty well? I guess? It's a bit hard to say for sure. I feel like I'm in a bit of a slump, but I haven't really lost much recently, so it's hard to tell. I've been playing a lot of doubles recently, which makes it hard to determine exactly how much is my own shortcoming. I won the open division in Colorado, which was a nice consolation prize for losing in the pro division in a match I feel I should have won. Then I (we) got second in the winter carnival doubles tournament, which came with some cash, a free bag, and a modicum of self respect. League has been going... okay. My team isn't fantastic these days, so I've been playing doubles there too in the hopes that if I can carry the doubles team, we can steal a singles match and win the night. This strategy might have a flaw this weekend, though (we are in the finals), as the team we are up against includes 5 open players (Donovan, Quinn, Labey, Hagen, and Hiber). Beating any two of them in doubles will be tricky, and then someone still has to figure out a way to win a singles match against the remainder. But then afterwards...

Prom
My girlfriend is humoring me and making my sixth (and perhaps final) prom a special one. Of course, this particular event is called the "barrister's ball," but we all know better. Law prom it is, and for good reason. Drama, sloppiness, irresponsible decisions... all that's really different from high school is that the booze is legal. Oh, and copious. It seems, this year there will be three open bars at our disposal. What could go wrong? (A lot. A lot could go wrong.) Nothing probably will, though, especially with me at the helm of sober volunteership.

I don't have a nifty segue from the last heading to whatever I'm going to talk about next, but that's okay. You'll tolerate me anyway.

I had a fun time coaching the University of Minnesota players at the national collegiate handball tournament here in town. And I got to be part of a coaches meeting and rub elbows with the people in charge of making some important decisions moving forward. If I move to Arizona, I have some potential contacts! If I stay here, I have some potential contacts! If I move to Alaska... well, I suppose worlds is headed there in a couple of years, so I suppose that's almost relevant? (Why would I move to Alaska, you might ask? Well, I don't really have a job, per se, as of right now, technically, as a matter of fact, so I'm... in the market? Starving to death? What's the right term? Oh right, job-hunting! That's what I'm doing. It's delightful.)

Anyway, I suppose I've demonstrated to adequate effect that my fingers are capable of movement, so I'll head back to my regularly scheduled programming. (Oooh, programming! I'd still like to learn how to code for computers! Back burner sure is getting full these days...)

I'd say I'll write more soon, but maybe I'll condition that on Sarah actually updating her blog of European adventures. That way I know I won't have to, and I won't feel as bad for not writing here!

Genius (as usual)

Thanks for reading!
